Why good companies get low scores
An EcoVadis score depends on what you can show. Analysts look for written policies, actions that put them into practice, and results you report.
Most low scores come from good companies with thin paperwork: a policy nobody signed, training nobody recorded, emissions nobody measured. Fixing that is usually quicker and cheaper than people expect.
How it works
- A 30-minute call. Tell us who asked, by when and what score they want. If you don't need help, we'll say so.
- Fixed-fee proposal. Scope and price agreed in writing before work starts.
- Readiness check. A ranked list of gaps across the four themes, with owners and dates.
- Build, submit, review. We work with your team until submission and go through the scorecard when it arrives.

Founding client offer: a free Taster. If you're happy to give us a short testimonial once your scorecard is published, we'll add a Taster at no cost. We take one topic from your EcoVadis evidence, such as energy or waste, and run it against our evidence base of more than 2,000 verified projects from real companies. You get a written report on what companies like yours did with the same issue and what it earned them, usually within three working days. It's normally £950, and it's entirely optional.

Mike Kelly is a Chartered Director, GRI-certified ESRS Professional and holder of the Certificate in Green and Sustainable Finance. Nemetan is independent of EcoVadis and sells no subscriptions.
Questions suppliers ask
Is EcoVadis a certification?
No. It is a rating out of 100, valid for 12 months, with medals for top performers. There is no pass or fail. Our EcoVadis guide explains how the score works.
How long does it take to improve an EcoVadis score?
The rating only changes at reassessment, normally after 12 months. Start three to six months before the questionnaire opens so there is time to write, approve and use new policies.
Can you fill in the questionnaire for us?
We work through it with you, but your team submits it. EcoVadis checks answers against the documents you attach, so the evidence has to be yours.
What does EcoVadis cost?
Two separate costs. EcoVadis charges an annual subscription based on company size, location and plan; its pricing tool gives the current figure. Our support is a fixed fee, from £2,950 + VAT depending on company size. See fees.
